Satin Care Instructions

  1. For light marks and general maintenance, you can use shoe cleaning wipes such as Walter’s Cleaning Wipes.

  2. For tough dirt spots and stains, a laundry detergent cleaning pen, such as a Tide-to-Go pen, works well.

  3. If your satin shoes need a deep clean overall, use a foaming cleanser such as Walter's Foaming Nubuck Cleaner. Be cautious that it may darken the overall fabric slightly.

Shoe Cleaning Wipes:

For light dirt and cleaning, you can use shoe cleaning wipes such as Walter’s Cleaning Wipes

  • Brush off excess dirt with a clean, dry cloth.

  • Wipe the entire area with the wet cleaning wipe. You may need to rub a bit harder in areas with a deeper stain or mark to remove it.

  • Allow the shoe to air dry.

Alternative Cleaning Solutions:

For tough, small stains, you can use a laundry detergent cleaning pen, such as a Tide-to-Go pen, to spot clean the stain.

  • Brush off excess dirt with a clean, dry cloth, and follow the cleaning instructions listed on the cleaning pen.

  • Be sure to test your desired cleaner in a discrete area first, as the cleaner may alter the colour of the satin slightly.

  • Allow the shoe to air dry.

Foaming shoe cleanser:

If your satin shoes need a deep clean, use a foaming cleanser such as Walter's Foaming Nubuck Cleaner.

  • Brush off excess dirt with a clean, dry cloth

  • Apply a foaming shoe cleaner to the stained area.

  • Be sure to test your desired cleaner in a discrete area first, as the cleaner may alter the colour of the satin slightly.

  • With a soft bristle brush, gently rub the cleaning solution into the satin fabric using circular and flicking brush motions until the stain disappears.

  • A soft toothbrush is a great alternative if you don't have a shoe-cleaning brush suited for satin.

  • Allow the shoe to air dry.
